What makes an IOT system Production-Grade

At Commander Automation, our goal is to build production-grade IoT systems that remain robust in diverse situations and scale horizontally and vertically as project demands grow.

We build systems with inherent features that separate them from generic solutions and help them comply with enterprise requirements.

1. Over-the-Air (OTA) Control

IoT systems can become redundant quickly if they lack remote connectivity and control. A system-on-a-chip is only as good as the data it controls and synchronizes, and requirements evolve over time. If you have a fleet of 100 chips, updating manually can be time-consuming and error-prone.

All of our systems are OTA-enabled, with full control over the software running on your devices. You can update single units or entire fleets with a few clicks.

2. Compute Scaling

We use Raspberry Pi technologies for most of our chipsets. This lets us scale software from basic 1GB units to 8GB configurations without major software rewrites. Since the core hardware family remains consistent, scaling often becomes a chipset transition while retaining the same software base.

Scalable hardware and OTA control keep IoT platforms adaptable as operations grow.

3. Integration Ready

Our software is designed to work with a wide range of sensors and devices. Whether equipment is connected via USB, GPIO, or wireless protocols, our system integrates cleanly with different hardware stacks, including RS232 and RJ485/RS485-based connections.

Tell us what you want your system to do, and we can also recommend the right hardware setup.

4. Self-Healing Software

We build with containerized microservices, enabling self-healing and auto-refresh behaviors that reduce manual intervention. The goal is simple: keep your IoT systems up, resilient, and fully automated in production conditions.
